Masayuki Oba is born in the year 1952. I worked for international cargo forwarding business for more than 30 years while working at Nippon Express Co., Ltd. I experienced working in the Netherlands/Amsterdam for four years and a half and in Cebu/Philippines for more than six years. After retiring the company, I worked for a logistics company in Bangkok/Thailand nearly three years and returned to Japan, but immediately I was asked by the owner of Tri group who knows me since long time to work at this company and then I arrived in Laguna in May 2015 and I have been working for this company since then.
When I was working for the logistics company in Bangkok, I experienced to travel Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar and published a book of travelogues as "Travel through the Economic Corridor" subtitle --Roads of Mekong river basin CARGO-MAN saw-- at my own expense.
In November 2024, I published Travelogue in the Philippines, "My Journey to Commemorate the Sprits of Former Japanese Soldiers."
It began with a record of a trip to a town in northern Luzon on July 6, 2018, to pay respects to the soldiers of the former Japanese military. I then traveled to the Bataan Peninsula, Cebu, and Leyte, continuing until April 2022.
I researched relevant literature to learn about the battles and wrote about my impressions of them. In particular, I attempted to examine and consider in my own way what kind of barbarism was known as the "Bataan Death March." Furthermore, I visited the place where General Tomoyuki Yamashita and Lieutenant General Masaharu Homma of the Imperial Japanese Army dies (there are monuments), and while thinking about their final moments, I also considered where their actual execution spot was. At the end of the travelogue, I wrote about the camp (where Japanese soldiers were held as prisoners of war) and the site of a cemetery that is said to have been located in Canlubang, Laguna Province, Luzon.
It was difficult for an old man who works in the logistics industry and is not not a writer to continue writing such accounts of history. After six years of writing, I only finished it at the end of June 2024.
